Mother to child transmission

is a risk for every HIV positive pregnant woman but women in high resource countries are fortunate to have access to the recommended long course of ARVs. This is not the case for thousands of women in low resource countries where often even basic drug regimens are not accessible.

The Global Fund is launching the 'Born HIV Free' campaign to help raise awareness of issues surrounding Mother-to-Child transmission. They also provide the necessary ARVs to reduce the risk of infants becoming infected.
